The Problem
Rancho Santana is a popular wedding venue in Nicaragua, especially for destination weddings. For couples living abroad, previewing the space before booking was a major hassle.
Goal
Design a virtual tour experience that lets users explore the venue remotely, view detailed specs (like room capacity and dimensions), and imagine their wedding day—all from their phones.
My Role
As a solo UX designer, I led the end-to-end process: User research & journey mapping, Wireframes & prototypes, Visual design in Figma, and Usability testing.

Usability studies findings
In our usability study, we realized that users want to have a contact button available on every page to make it easier for them to contact the venue as soon as they see something they like.
We had a pop-up menu for alternate pages which had the purpose of making it easier for the user to navigate to main pages. In our usability study, we realized that it was not attractive and users were not noticing/using it to their advantage.
Users loved the feature of tapping on hotspots to view details (e.g. seating capacity, room dimensions, lighting options).

Final Take Away
By following UX design principles, the Virtual Tour App for the wedding venue will offer potential clients a user-friendly and immersive experience, enabling them to envision their dream wedding in the venue and ultimately make more informed decisions when choosing the perfect location for their special day. It addressed major friction points in the destination wedding planning process and could reduce the workload on venue staff as well.
